Alestair the wood worker

Our couch legs died and I had a smart idea to use the cedar branch I took from the tree that fell a while back and us them to replace the legs and make the couch last a bit longer. So we did. Or will do. they need to dry out more. Robert and Alestair had a great time doing the beginning work though! Alestair even got his tongue hanging out while doing the hammer work. :) I loved it!

Emmett crawls...kinda

Emmett doesn't like to crawl he does it because he has to. He tries to get his feet under himself and ends up bear crawling most of the time. He doesn't like to have someone hold his hands so he can walk either. It will be interesting to see when he walks since once he is in standing position he will not take a step even if he is holding onto furniture. He just leans.

and The Winner is..

The foam floor letter puzzle! Totally the favorite of Alestair. I put it together Christmas night and the whole time he was say "Dank Do oh oh oh dank do!" and giving hugs and kisses and Oma and Stacy came in and he gave them hugs and kisses and said "dank do" and then when it was put together he made us all dance on it. So adorable!

I found him asleep on the floor, covered him up and brought his pillow down. Later that night I found him back in his bed with his pillow and had to cover him up but I suppose the letter floor is not the softest thing to sleep on.

Three weeks later and he still sleeps with the letters (he brings them in bed with him) and he dances on the floor. He has learned so many new letters too! He can point most of them out for you and he doesn't use A as the word for Letter now. It was cute but very confusing. Emmett loves it too but not as much as Alestair.

Merry Christmas!!

Well Santa came. He brought lots of goodies! including Oma Fee like Alestair asked. Aunt Stacy also came! We wore our hats out to see what Santa brought-tradition. Alestair handed out presents (or the first few before he was overwelmed). Oma Fee gave Alestair a wooden train that is pulled on a string. He would pass the presents out while he pulled the train. He had a really hard time with both Oma Fee and Stacy. He couldn't figure out who was who for some reason. Emmett sat on Oma's lap and opened gifts very quietly. He was not as interested in the paper so much as anything with a package he could soak.

Emmett was very content with present opening. No craziness or crankiness just totally chill with it all.

Christmas Eve!

Christmas Eve jammies! Alestair was actually excited to wear them!Christmas 2010 picture! I love Emmetts jammies they are adorable. Alestair's are as well but I liked his from last year a bit more.and a good night kiss! Alestair put out milk and cookies for Santa and wrote a letter but the boys were way way tired so I forgot to take a picture.

At long last...

Emmett fell asleep for Daddy! In the past months Emmett has flat out refused to sleep for Robert. If Robert went to comfort him in the night it was garanteed to wake him up even more and thus a longer night for me. But he has finally found out that Dad is not just someone who plays with you!

I think Emmett likes this more than Alestair did. He does get to use it far earlier in life than Alestair that might have something to do with it.

We will miss you Uncle Dave!

Alestair loved playing with Uncle Dave and would wait at the window for him to come home. (As I am writing this 3 weeks later Alestair has just this past week figured out that Uncle Dave is not coming home from work. He is a little upset but not as much as Emmett who after finally being taken upstair sat down and whined that he could not find Dave.)

Dave left us. He has been here six months and got an amazing transfer to Massachusetts. Of course it will be far better that he can be with his family but we have loved having him here and will miss him a ton!

Snackers

Emmett stands!

Emmett just started pulling up on things...after crawling for a month. He gets up but doesn't move his feet and ends up sliding out and doing the splits. I feel bad but it is really funny and I am sure won't last long. He isn't walking around furniture or anything just pulling up on things and getting stuck. He still can't figure out how to get down.

Happy 27th Birthday Robert!

We celebrated Robert's by having no cake and only one present to open. I made chocolate crinkle cookies instead of cake for Robert. They are his favorite and the closest thing to cake that he will eat. Alestair, Emmett, Anabel and I made a card. We all put our hand/paw tracing in it. Alestair picked out some Toy Story Lego to give to Robert. It was tons of fun! Dave held out the cake and lite this candles.

We are ready now.

It took a little longer this year but the house is offically decorated for Christmas! I got new stockings this year so they all match and I love them!

He really NEEDED to hold his brother

Alestair waited for me to finish feeding Emmett and then took him from me. He is not happy that I am taking pictures-he said that I would wake him up so "shh quite he sleep"He was right...

Letter Days

Yep I stole the idea from Krystal Swan...it was a really good idea you can't blame me. Or you can..I did do it.

Letter E:

Elf, Elf Ears (Elephant ears in half), Elf song and E is for Elf coloring sheets (Emmett too)!

Emmett and Itziana played on the floor together while all the bigger littles ate Elf Ears. I love Davie's face...posing while everyone else stuffs their face.

Getting the Christmas Tree...2010

This is a sad but happy thing. After finding a 5 dollar deal on a fake tree 2010 will be the last year for a real tree for a while in our home. We will miss the adventure of finding a tree but not the mess or pokiness or sap or watering or ... fill it in.

We had to wait for Robert and Dave to finally be ready to go. After getting all three kiddos and I in the car we munched on chocolate covered pretzels and waited. Alestair's friends Maddy got to come with us year. They had a blast running about trying to find a tree and other treasures. They had a lot of fun stump hopping. Emmett hung out in the pack on my back. He wished he could run around but alas he has just learned to crawl about a month ago.

Once we found the tree we liked. We all hauled it back to the car. Robert hauled it back to the pay station while Dave and I drove the kiddos back to pick up Robert and the tree.

The Trike Trick

I love tricycles...My firstborn does as well. :) This makes me happy! He gave me a ride...well demanded that I took a ride really. It was fun.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Neil and Dannelle came up with Josie and James in tow. It made Thanksgiving lots of fun! Josie and James got socks for mittins so that we could play out in the snow for a bit. Anabel ran away but was found after Robert went out and searched. This made for a huge ordeal inside with Alestair, James and Josie. Alestair even checked the basement calling "Belle! My Belles!". Josie did the same. We played games and had a lovely turkey which we didnt get a picture of.... Robert made my dad's pumkin pie reciepe and an apple pie. Neil made two sweet potatoe pies and we had all the regular fixins to go with the turkey. With far more food than anyone there would have or could have eaten it really felt like Thanksgiving! Dave joined us for pie and game playing even!This one reminds me of Winnie the Pooh...Its Alestair.Cute little James.

The one below is just pretty and I like that Alestair is in it. Robert, Neil and James had a snow fight...not snowball just snow. The snow was way powdery so it was hard to make a snow ball.

Josie, Emmett and I were smart and only stayed out for a little while. Emmett did eat snow. Thank you Aunt Kaye for the adorable snow suit!

It bloomed!

I think this was the most fragrant rose not to mention the most beautiful!

Snow and a Rose!

It started snowing and I found my rose bud about to bloom. I took it inside and Alestair loved to smell it. Our beautiful snowy home!

Playing in the snow! Alestair loved it and Emmett didn't really understand what to do in it. Aunt Kaye told me the next day that we should open Emmett's Christmas gift and it was the cutest snow suit! I was really absent minded and took pictures of it on my phone so when Neil and Dannelle came for Thanksgiving we took more pictures of him in it. He loves it and its really cute! Alestair threw his first snowball. The snow was all powder so it was difficult but he had fun with it!

Anabel loved it as well. She would not go to the bathroom in it but who would want to. Dave was fixing his car while we played and Alestair kept trying to get him out in the cold. It was pretty funny.
